Hi, I’m Louise

I feel like I have lived many lives on my 40 trips around the Sun. I often catch myself pausing in the middle of tasks and thinking to myself “how in the devil have I got here”.

I have come to the conclusion that it’s the result of some crazy cosmic alchemy. One giant cosmic cocktail of experiences that have been my life up until now, teaching me lessons, leading me in the right direction, forming who I am, my values, my aesthetic preferences and skills.

My belief is that we all have a destiny, we were all brought into this magical, crazy thing called life to make things better and when I am in my studio I know I have found my rightful place in this world, I am in my happy place, I am in my flow, I feel at home.

With 20 years in high street fashion buying and designing, I have seen it all. Often disillusioned by what I was doing, now it all makes sense. Every experience I have had; the good, the bad and the very ugly, has shaped the ethos of Hera Vintage as a brand and brought me to right here, right now, in the sleepy little village that is Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, surrounded by vintage textiles, a fantastic team, a desire to make a difference and one big plan.

If you would like to hear more of my musings, insights into the fashion industry and behind the scenes, please subscribe to our newsletter where I will share regular blog posts.

Our ethos is that of sustainability and beauty.

Our garments are made from 100% recycled textiles, made in our home town Whaley Bridge, England.

All of our pieces are designed with future proofing in mind; they are dual sized so if you go up or down a few dress sizes your piece will still fit you.

They are unique; no one else will ever have the same piece as you. Yes there are sisters amongst the collection, but they are not identical.

The House of Hera

The home of Hera Vintage is nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, in a sleepy little village called Whaley Bridge (Derbyshire, England).

Our studio is based in a little shop fronted building, dating to the Victorian era. The space has a long history of dressmaking and clothing, previously being a bridal wear shop and a milliners.

We employ a small group of skilled workers who are highly treasured and are paid at least a living wage for the skilled and passionate work they do to make our collections at Hera Vintage the best they can be.
